Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

In the fall of 2020 I began work on the runaway bus sequence with Shang -Chi fighting 'Razor Fist'.  It was a super fun project made more special by having it take place on one of my hometown iconic modes of public transportation - the San Francisco Muni, of which I was intimately familiar with.   Prior to actual shot work I was responsible for setting up the interior practicals and exterior ambient stage lighting, along with standard outdoor lighting for the full exterior shots, all existing in a Katana/Arnold template. I also worked with comp lead Greg Ng who look dev'd the metallic razor burning edge effect. This involved creating/testing various shader and fx AOV setups, as well as devising a global STmap pass that comp integrated the passing 360 footage outside onto the sword as well as the entire interior bus.
