Animal Logic, Sydney | Lighting

It was good fun working on this Adam Sandler film with Animal Logic (Netflix Animation) for the first half(ish) of 2023.  With the Vancouver office taking the lead, the final look was managed by the incredibly talented Lighting Supervisor Rodrigo Janz who gave us full autonomy over sequences and sets that didn't overlap with them.  For me I was able to create key lighting for some bespoke areas such as the indoor singing contest, the terrarium carried outside, the bus centric outdoor highway shots, and the shot finale with Leo and Squirtle bounced into the air.  Adding to the show in a big way was Sharon Calahan (DOP Pixar 1998-2015) who come on board to art direct and manage the clients vision. Listening and interacting with her on a daily basis while she deconstructed the lighting/overall look and gave her suggestions on how to make everything more beautiful was a course unto itself.
